Digital X-Ray

Digital x-rays provide improved comfort of mouth x-rays and less cranial exposure to radiation. With digital x-rays, patients can have around 70% less exposure to radiation than conventional x-rays. Digital x-rays also produce larger and clearer photos to better source hard-to-see cavities and the images can be easily stored on a computer and transferred to different dentists or orthodontists for referrals. Digital x-rays are also more environmentally friendly in the long run.

One of the most useful advancements in dentistry has been the introduction of digital radiographs. Digital radiographs use small film size sensors to capture the images and transmit them to workstations within 2 seconds. Today the sensors are more accurate and comfortable than ever. These sensors offer many advantages to the patient, doctor, office, and environment.

Most importantly, the patient receives up to 90% less radiation compared with traditional film radiographs. The advancements in technology have made it possible for the sensors to capture accurate images, with the need for very low exposure times. Also, the image is now available for the dentist within 2 seconds, as compared to 5 minutes with tradition film.

With the aid of dental imaging software, the doctor has many aids available to properly diagnose the radiography. These include such things as; changing contrast, enhancing image quality, magnification of the image, taking accurate measurements, and immediate comparisons of different angles and time periods of images.

The office and doctor also have the added luxury of been able to email images to colleges for consultation purposes. Traditional film used developing and fixing solutions that are no longer needed. Traditional film also involved lead lining within the packaging. Both the lead lining and solutions had to be disposed of using environmental precautions.

Panoramic X-Ray

With panoramic x-rays, your dentist can see easily look for problems such as bone abnormalities and fractures, cysts, impacted teeth, infections and tumors. Its a much faster and simpler process than traditional x-rays. Also, the panoramic technique requires fewer steps compared to traditional dental x-rays. and hence makes patients feel more comfortable during the procedure and provides improved patient care.

TV on ceiling to watch during treatment

Televisions are situated on the ceiling in the dental office so that when the dentist leans his patients back in the chair, they are able to watch television. This serves as a distraction from the fact that you are in the dentist office and has manged to alleviate tensions associated with dental visits for a lot of anxious patients and especially children.

Cancer Screening (Identafi)

The detection is made through the processing of optical fluorescence and reflectance in certain body tissues. The Identafi® core technologies are based on high-speed, high-resolution capabilities from its patented optical processing technology and includes the ability to identify metabolic and physiologic differences in diseased and healthy tissue in the human body.

Intraoral camera

An intraoral camera is a great tool for patient education. The camera is attached to a wand that can be inserted into areas of a patient's mouth to allow the patient to visually see exactly what you are seeing. It is very difficult to describe to a patient what a crack in the tooth looks like or when a filling is starting to break down and is in need of replacement. A picture is worth a thousand words, and can help you understand the care we are providing. It is part of our commitment to providing you with the best care and latest technology available.

Electric handpieces

Today, electric handpiece technology is comprised of three main components: the electric motor, the control unit, and the handpiece. Electric handpiece systems easily integrate with existing air-driven systems. An air compressor hook-up is necessary for air to atomize the water through the port(s). Most units contain some type of internal fiber-optic light source and run off the existing foot pedal or rheostat. An electric power source is also required.
