Canadian Dental Care Plan

We Accept the CDCP

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal government initiative designed to cover up to 100% of dental care treatment costs for eligible Canadians. If you've applied and been approved, you can receive reduced-cost treatments at our clinic in Toronto.

Is the CDCP for You?

The CDCP is intended for Canadians who do not have dental benefits and have a household income of less than $90,000 a year. You may qualify if:

  • Your family net income is less than $90,000.
  • You do not have access to private dental insurance.
  • You are a Canadian resident and have filed a tax return in the previous year.
  • Applicants must have filed their 2024 tax return.

CDCP Application and Eligibility in 2025

If you are 65 years or older, under 18 years old, or an adult with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate, you can apply now.

For adults aged 18-64, applications will open in May 2025:

  • May 1, 2025: Ages 55-64
  • May 15, 2025: Ages 18-34
  • May 29, 2025: Ages 35-54

Coverage for newly eligible adults (18-64) will begin as early as June 1, 2025.

Renewal Process

  • Current CDCP members must renew their coverage starting from March 2025.
  • The renewal deadline is June 1, 2025, to ensure uninterrupted coverage.

How Much Will the CDCP Cover?

The CDCP is not a free dental program. Patients may be required to make a co-payment of up to 60%, depending on their adjusted family net income. However, the specific coverage percentages and co-payment amounts have not been officially confirmed.

What Treatments Does the CDCP Cover?

  • Preventive care: Cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants
  • Diagnostic services: Exams, X-rays
  • Restorative treatments: Fillings, crowns
  • Endodontic treatments: Root canals
  • Prosthodontic services: Complete and partial dentures
  • Oral surgery: Tooth extractions
Note: Not all dental services are covered under the CDCP, and many procedures have frequency limitations. Some services may require pre-approval starting from November 2024.

How to Apply for the CDCP in 2025

Important Considerations

  • Before proceeding with treatment, it's important for patients to understand their dental care costs, as not all services are covered, and there may be out-of-pocket expenses.
